With my son going to school for the first time in the fall we have been taking a lot of books from the library about school and talking through how it is going to go and how much fun he will have. My daughter did great at school but my son seems a little apprehensive about the whole school thing and me leaving him.
This week we borrowed Wow! School! by Robert Neubecker. This was a fantastic book to read and talk about what we saw in the images. Each page was filled will colorful drawings about an aspect of school, from story time to lunch time. There are not a lot of words which gave us an opportunity to talk about the pictures and what his school might be like.
This is a great book for introducing children to the concept of school and it provides a great tool for talking about different things that happen at school.
