Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth

Building Character and Leadership

By Victoria Robillard - Publisher February 15, 2018

I was so lucky to sit down with the Director of Operations to find out what the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth has to offer.

Tucked back in the business park across from Colony Place is the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth. An unassuming building from the outside that is filled with life, learning, and community.  Their mission is "to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens." From my short tour and visit, I could see their mission at work. Each day they welcome kids from Plymouth and the surrounding towns to give them a safe place to go and be with friends, play games and take part in other enrichment activities that may not be accessible to them otherwise.

Boys and Girls Clubs all over America help kids every day realize all that life has to offer and all that they have to offer the world. From ages 6-18 children can be a part of a community that is founded in good citizenship and community building. The club, founded in 1911, has served thousands of kids and continues to work hard to meet the needs of children today.

Some of the programs the club offers:

Licensed After School Program – Compass Zone
Smarter Fun Summer Camp
Character & Leadership Development
Education & Career Development
Health & Life Skills
Sports, Fitness & Recreation
The Arts
Specialized Teen Programs

The Club is open daily. Monday through Friday for regular members during the school year from 4:00-7:00pm and 2:30 – 5:30pm for Compass Zone (our licensed fee-based, school age after school program). On Plymouth Public 1/2 days, we are open 3:00-7:00pm for regular members and 12 noon to 7:00pm for Compass Zone students.

The Boys and Girls Club strives to be affordable to all with an annual membership of $25 per year and scholarship available to those who qualify.

Contact the Plymouth Boys and Girls Club today to find out how your child can become a member at 508-746-6070 or visit us at 9 Resnik Road, Plymouth, MA to fill out the application form.

Thank you to the Boys and Girls Club of Plymouth for the tour and the meeting.
