5 Things to do with a Toddler

By Victoria Robillard - Publisher March 21, 2018

Thinking of things to do with a toddler can be difficult. They aren't old enough for bowling and movies yet they still need to be entertained.

Here is our list of 10 things to do with your toddler.

1. Visit the Library - Libraries are more than just books. All libraries in our area have toys and puzzles for every age, including toddlers. Storytimes can be found on our calendar but libraries welcome toddlers to come sit and play even if there isn't a story time.

2, Visit the Playground - Ok, playgrounds with a toddler aren't as easy as playgrounds with an older child. You do need to stay with them and help them on much of the climbing equipment and swings. But running around outside is sure to get them tired.

3. Visit Abilities Rec at the Kingston Collection or My Gym- Big place places can be overwhelming for toddlers and their parents. But Abilities Rec and My Gym is perfect for smaller kids and the space allows parents to see their kids at all times. Be sure to check out their classes they have some amazing one.

4. Take a hike - Toddler love to explore and a hike is a great way to introduce them to a new environment. It might not be good to take a long hike, little legs can only go so far. But what might be a small park to you is a brand new world for a toddler.

5. Watch the trains or construction sites. - My kids LOVED this and usually, the car ride turned into a great nap so I always brought a book to read while they slept. Trains and things that go and move seems to fascinate toddlers for some reason. Check the schedule you might get to see the train bridge come down if you head down to Buzzard's Bay.
