A Post, A Dream, A Reality

The Kingston Farmer's Market

By Victoria Robillard - Publisher May 16, 2018

What started off as a Facebook post on a town page has rallied a team and created an event that caters to the entire family.

The Kingston Farmers Market will debut on June 3rd from 10-2 at the Kingston Collections and then will be held on the first Sunday of every month until October.

"Our mission is to provide the community a vibrant gathering place. We are dedicated to supporting local farmers, producers, and artisans, and we are committed to promoting environmental and economic sustainability."

Back in November Maryann Gibbons posted on Facebook an idea she had. Now just about seven months later that idea is a reality. Local farmers, producers, and artisans are coming together to share, teach and sell produce to the community in an effort to promote environmental and economic sustainability. With over 20 food vendors, many artisans, local non-profits and other community organizations. You don't want to miss their inaugural market or any of the Kingston Farmer's Markets.

The list of vendors is impressive and there will be activities to keep your whole family busy and happy all day long.

This market is more than just about selling fruits and veggies. The board has worked hard to bring education and entertainment to the market and to make the first Sunday of each month a day you can spend with your whole family, learning, eating and playing together. Each month there will be a special Kid’s Tent which will educate and entertain through creation. This month they will be creating wildflower ball pollinators and teaching about pollination. And Macaroni Kid will be there too! I will have a story, craft, and some prizes!

There is so much fun happening at the Kingston Farmers Market I hope to see you there from 10-2 on June 3rd and the First Sunday of every month.
