You and Your bike can make a difference

Join us for the 7th Annual Plymouth Pan-Mass Challenge Kids Ride

By Victoria Robillard - Publisher May 10, 2019

Have you ever met a group of people working together on a project that made you feel like you were part of something great? That is exactly how I have felt over these past few months as I have worked with some wonderful people on the 7th Annual Plymouth Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) Kids Ride. This event like its big brother the Pan-Mass Challenge works to raise money for to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through the Jimmy Fund with 100 percent of every rider dollar raised going directly to the Dana Faber.

Last year, our rider champions rode between 1 and 6 miles with the singular goal of making a difference in the fight against cancer. In the six years that Plymouth has held a Kids Ride we’ve raised over $55,000 for Dana-Farber. This year our goal is to attract 75 riders and raise a record $15,000.

But we can't do this alone we need your help! Join Us on June 30th, 2018 at Charge Pond in the DCR Myles Standish State Forest to make the 7th year of the Plymouth PMC Kids ride our best year yet!

There are three ways to ride making it fun for everyone! The youngest riders can spend their time on the dedicated, off-road tyke loop, while older riders can circumnavigate the pond, featuring a 1.1 mile paved road with a few gently rolling hills. Go around once or as many times as you can during the ride hour. And this year they are bringing back a 5+mile loop for seasoned riders, utilizing mostly bike paths throughout the Charge and Fearing Pond areas. It will be led by a dedicated group of adult riders. (Please note that this loop is restricted to strong riders, aged 10 and up, and has a fundraising minimum of $100.)

Commemorate your ride with a party at the finish line with music provided by 105.7 WROR,  games, food, arts and crafts, and fantastic raffle items! We're still working on the guest list, so follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/PMCKidsPlymouth/ to hear the latest news! Lastly, we will have a short ceremony recognizing our riders who have participated for 6 years!
