BOU the Better and Better for You Bouillon and Gravy Cubes

By Mark Robillard June 29, 2018

Special Thank you to my husband Mark Robillard, who loved this product so much that he asked to be the one to write the review

I like to cook. I enjoy the process of getting fresh ingredients at the market, preparing them, following the steps of a new recipe and serving my creation to loved ones. I typically prepare simple dishes and they usually come out pretty tasty. And just like most, I like to eat. So it’s a great relationship of cooking and eating. If only I had the time to do it more often….

Between a round-trip commute of 3+ hours, working a full day in the city, and helping with the kids when I get home, my day-to-day routine does not leave much time for preparing gourmet meals. Dinner most nights is usually something that my wife and I can pull together quickly. Then for lunches at work, I typically bring something simple like rice or potatoes to enjoy with soup and/or a salad. Like most families, we end up having to sacrifice taste for convenience.

That is why I was very intrigued when we got a few boxes of bouillon and gravy cubes from BOU. I had never heard of the company before and don’t usually use bouillon cubes, outside of maybe for the gravy on Thanksgiving, but their marketing pitch was intriguing. The entrepreneurs behind BOU set out to innovate in a market that had not changed in many years. With a simple focus of delivering tastier bouillon without as much salt and no artificial ingredients, the team at BOU have created a great product.

While the cubes can certainly be used within recipes, due to not having much time I tend to just mix them with some hot water and use them as a broth with rice or as a quick gravy to put over potatoes. I didn’t know that I would need bouillon or gravy cubes in my cupboard but now I certainly do. I use them almost every day over rice or vegetables. What I thought was just a staple in my grandmother's cabinet has become a staple of my own.

But BOU isn't just for rice or soups! Check out their website for some AMAZING recipes. Victoria and the kids tried out one the other day and although it didn't look as good as the professional one I think it probably tasted just as good.
