When it comes to toys it is so difficult for a product to really stand out and get my attention as a parent but also hold the attention of my children for longer than a few moments. When we walk down the aisle of any store there are colorful toys, games and blind bags competing for my child's attention and my money. Meanwhile at home we have toys sprawled from one end of the house to the other and my kids often don't see the value in the things they have.

When I first saw these little Hairdorable dolls I thought they were cute but I was also gripped with the fear of little pieces and doll shoes all over the house. My six year old will play with something for a few minutes then completely abandon the project in search of something else, leaving the ruins of the game, art project or doll house in the middle of the floor. Her intention is often to return but two days later we are in a stand off. Me on one side of the line with a trash bag and her throwing her self in front of the project as if it was her pièce de résistance. But these Hairdorable dolls have broken through the noise for her attention and they have not left her hands since she opened her first little surprise.
Hairdorables may be the ultimate blind bag. Each package has 11 surprises waiting to be opened. As your progress through each of the little boxes, a trait is reveled about the doll waiting for you as the final surprise. Blind bags have been a huge hit in my home. I take that back. Blind bags have been a huge hit in my car for the past few years. Often we would go to the store, get a blind bag for a special treat and my kids would open it in the car. After the excitement of opening was through, the little plastic toy would be left in the car to slide into the abyss under the seat. These surprise packages have not succumb to that same fate. In fact because of the quality of the packaging my daughter has kept every piece and has been using the box as a closet for her dolls accessories.
I love that these dolls express uniqueness and strength in personality. My hope for my children is that they pursue their dreams. And I hope they do so in a way that is unique to each of them. I love that these dolls allow the imagination to stretch and grow as you can mix and match the 12 distinct girls with the over 30 distinct looks. My daughter loves the endless possibilities that the dolls have to offer.

In a life filled with cheap plastic toys I am so impressed by the quality and presentation of the dolls. Each doll is beautiful. The shoes and clothing are made to be taken on and off easily and with repetition. The velcro on the back of each dress is reinforced so as not to pull away from the dress when you change the dolls outfit. And the construction of the doll will make it difficult to disassemble in the hands of a younger brother.
One of the last things we needed in our home was another little doll with little pieces, but my daughter and I are both so in love with these Hairdorable dolls that I think there might be another doll or two (or 36 if you ask her) in our future for a birthday or Christmas.

These dolls are so new that they are hard to find. The scarcity coupled with the fact that anyone who sees them wants a doll (or all 36) has made dolls difficult to come by in local stores.
