Small Business Saturday is celebrating its 10th year of encouraging shoppers to spend the day visiting local businesses, on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. When you spend money at a local business more of that money stays within the community. By shopping local, $68 of every $100 spent stays within the community. Compare that to only $48 of $100 spent at larger businesses.1 When you choose to shop local you are not just supporting a local business, you are supporting local families, local schools, and other local community initiatives.
Fair Saturday is a global movement with a mission to create a positive social impact on the last Saturday of November each year. Cultural and Artist organizations from all over the world are uniting to create a golbal festival with the aim of supporting local social causes. This year Plymouth Bay Cultural District as part of Fair Saturday will be collecting non-perishable food items and warm hats/gloves for the South Shore Community Action Council and the Plymouth Area Coalition for the Homeless.
