By Erin Michael, Plymouth MA Macaroni Kid Publisher March 9, 2024

International Women’s Day is Friday, March 8th. Recently, I got a chance to hang out with these amazing female entrepreneurs and they were so inspiring - I just had to share them all with you! Read about them below and be sure to click the links below to view all their products!

Meet Lindsay, Owner of Tateo Organics

How she got started: My name is Lindsay and I am the owner of Tateo Organics located in Middleboro. I grew up in New York until I went to college. I went to school to be a teacher which I was for 13 years. I am married to my high school sweetheart for 15 years. We run a homestead on our property and look forward to growing what we have to offer as we continue this journey.

Her business: My business is microgreens, organic baked goods and other local clean products. Growing microgreens started as a hobby for my husband during the pandemic. I looked at him and said do you think I could sell these and I have now turned into my full time business and job. I have been in business since 2022. Educating people on the benefits of microgreens truly brings a smile to my face each time.

Her bump in the road: Believing in myself during this whole journey.

Products and Services Plymouth Macaroni KID Loves: I have heard such amazing things about Lindsay's microgreens, and I am dying to try them myself! Lindsay offers a subscription service, so you always have them on hand - love the convenience!

Meet Rosie from Wicked Eco

How she got started: I grew up in both NJ and CT and then made my way to MA for college. I studied Biology and became a middle school science teacher. My passion for life science really paved the way for leaning into environmentalism. Well, that plus I come from parents who are super creative and hate wasting things - there is always a fun way to turn something old into something new!My husband has been my number one supporter and he has always encouraged me to follow my dreams - and he knows I have some crazy ideas sometimes!

Her business: I am the designer, sewist, curator, and owner of Wicked Eco. My goal is to make eco-friendliness accessible and fun. I enjoy thrifting, repurposing, upcycling, and making reusables. Somedays I think its the challenge that I love...trying to figure out other ways to use items, trying to find better alternatives, and trying to turn one thing into another.

Her bump in the road: I started this business with dreams, a sewing machine, and lots of caffeine. I'm still growing and learning all the time, and that's hard! Last year I became my own accountant and tax specialist...haha. The year before? Social Media Star... it's both exhausting and fun. But I think that makes me even more proud of this business I've built - it's mine through and through.

Products and Services We Love: Rosie's "unpaper towels" have made such a difference in the amount of paper towels we use in our house. While we still keep some on hand, these have helped so much for cleaning up spills and wiping down counters! Plus, they are much gentler on little faces too!

Meet Paula from CLN&DRTY

How she got started: I grew in in New Jersey and my parents were Polish immigrants, which shaped a significant portion of my childhood's culture. I met my husband in Germany when I was 23 and visiting family in Poland. At the time, he lived in Orange County, California and I lived in Syracuse, NY. Unfortunately, when we met, I was struggling with serious substance abuse disorder as a result of PTSD from events in my childhood and in my young adult life. Thankfully, I had a "come to Jesus moment" when I was 24 and haven't picked up a substance since then. We moved to Marshfield, Massachusetts because his parents had some rental properties there. Life has been pretty exciting since then. We've moved around the whole South Shore and finally settled in Kingston with our two daughters, ages 9 and 7. Matt is a State Trooper but also a Chaplain for the Army National Guard and is currently deployed in The Middle East. This season has been exceptionally challenging, but it's also been amazing to see how God has been blessing us even in a time like this.

Her business: I own CLN&DRTY, a skincare company that focuses on creating radically effective skincare that features clean formulations for women who have reactive skin. I also offer marketing consulting services, do content creation for other wellness brands and have most recently launched The DRTY, a YouTube and audio podcast focusing on demystifying the wellness industry.

Her bump in the road: I think that one of the things that I'm most proud of is that I now have over 16 years of sobriety. This has been such a blessing in my life because it's given me the clear mind and tools to navigate challenging life experiences like going through a few serious mental health crises, truly finding peace in my relationship with God and currently walking through my husband's year long deployment to the Middle East with the Army. I'd rather have an interesting life than a "safe" life and God has given us so many twists and turns - but as a family, we truly believe that if we keep our trust in Him, He will always guide us in the right direction.

Advice for young entrepreneurs: You're going to mess up. A lot. You're going to think that everyone else has it figured out and that you're the only one who doesn't know the secrets. But that's not true. Everyone is trying to figure it out at the same time. Ask people for advice, offer your experiences as advice in return. Learn from your mistakes. People will ALWAYS remember the way that you made them feel.

Products we love: Here at Plymouth Macaroni KID, it is almost impossible for me to choose! All of the products in my skin care regimen come from CLN&DRTY and I will never go back! I currently use: Lavender Coffee Eye Cream,  Core Cream, Rose Toner, The "C" Serum, The Clout Stick, and the A-Team Barrier Repairing Night Cream.
