Canal Crossways Inclusive Playground - Main Street (Bourne, MA)

A few weeks ago, we headed out to check out a "new to us" playgrond by the canal in Bourne. Canal Crossways Inclusive Playground was easy to find right off of Main Street. The sign to the entrance was not where you were supposed to park (we ended up parking in an apartment complex lot, but others at the playground said the lot to park was just down the road, and then there was a short path that led to the park- once we go back and park appropriately I will update!).

When we arrived around 9:30am, we were the only ones there for about a half hour. We had so much fun on the swings, inclusive seesaw, and in the music area (especially H!). Soon enough, other families joined us and T so appreciated one of the dads that kept twirling him in the merry go round type toy (thank you Bourne mystery dad!).

The structures were great - and specifically built to be inclusive so that EVERYONE can use them. There were some typical playground structures, but also some very unique ones - they kept my three year old's attention for close to 2 hours and he would have loved to stick around longer! The best thing about this playground is that many of the structures provide wheelchair access.

The base of the playground is rubberized and the playground is in a woodland setting. There is no fence, although the playground was set back quite far from roads and parking lots.

There were tons of trails leading to the canal and one parent mentioned that they are great for running with a stroller! Next time we go, I'd love to spend more time and explore the paths and canal longer.

This gliding swing and the zipline were the most fun parts of the playground, for sure. We can't wait to go back!

Playground Rating

Safety - Great: This playground is not fenced in, but there was no apparent broken equipment. Structures were a good height.

Cleanliness - Great: There was no trash on the playground while we were there and the paths adjacent to the playground were well kept too!

Facilities - Great: The playground offers a lot for many different ages and abilities

Overall Rating - GREAT
