Fall is here!! Hopefully everyone is soaking up the sun and warm days while they last!….winter is looming so get yourself prepared for the sicknesses that always like to show up!

Last year, Covid-19 definitely took the front seat but we can’t forget all the other germs that lurk around us during those dark, cold, dry winter days and nights. There is Bronchitis, the inflammation of the bronchial tube that can be caused by a respiratory infection. Then Pneumonia, the lung infection that can be caused by bacteria and viruses. Gastroenteritis and the Norovirus always like to rear their ugly heads. They are both highly contagious stomach illnesses that too can be caused by viruses, bacteria and even parasites. They are spread person to person or through contaminated food...yuck! The Common Cold which is another respiratory illness that can make you feel miserable, and now makes you panic and think you have Covid! Covid tests all around!

Last but certainly not least, the Flu (influenza) is a highly contagious viral infection of the respiratory tract. There are different strains every year that are spread by coughing or touching. It can enter your body through your mouth and nose if you touch your face. The flu virus is known to circulate easier in dry air making the winter months a prime time for the virus to spread and grow. The flu shot which is used to prevent the flu is made based on the year prior. Fewer people had the flu last year due to social distancing and everyone washing their hands more than ever. Having less flu last year makes producing a vaccine tougher so those scientists are working even harder this year to produce an effective one!

How to stay safe?! Prevent getting sick and spreading germs!

Get the flu shot- it is free with insurance!

Maintain good hygiene-wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds frequently throughout the day

Stay home-If you aren’t feeling well, stay home until your symptoms improve!

Keep surfaces clean-germs can live on surfaces so you must keep them clean!

We at a Mother’s Touch Cleaning Co. can help you stay healthy! We come in and kill those lovely germs with hospital grade disinfectants!
