This year has been a tough one for everyone…on so many levels! Let’s start 2022 on the right foot. It’s never too late to alter or add to your routine to make life easier and cleaner! A few simple tips can go such a long way.
Rinse and wipe out your kitchen and bathroom sinks every morning and night.
Toothpaste and built up food take seconds to wipe away when it’s only sitting there for a couple hours versus a week or two. No scrubbing or sponge required!
Take out the trash often.
Also, have trash barrels in frequently used areas. They have cute ones that can match any decor. This will promote throwing away in one place then collecting can be done in one swipe which is an easy chore for one of the kiddos!
Use liquid soap in a dispenser rather than a bar soap.
Bar soap looks cute but it can be full of germs and the dish always looks grimy. Dispensers can be rinsed right under the sink and look brand new in seconds.
Don’t throw anything on the ground.
This goes back to the…everything should have it’s own home point that I love to make…dirty clothes go in the hamper, shoes on shoe rack etc. Keep up with this. Even in a rush, it takes seconds to put it where it belongs.
Clean the toilet bowl daily.
You don’t even need any cleaner. Just swish the toilet brush around with the water and flush .The bathroom gets very dirty fast so this will help slow that down.
Don't forget about door mats!
You should have one inside the door and outside. This will help keep some of the dirt from outside tracking throughout your house especially with winter coming and all the salt. Keep those mats as clean as possible too!
Wash your bath mats in the washer at least once every couple of weeks.
They come out looking new and really help keep the clean appearance in your bathroom.
Keep a vacuum in an easily accessible location.
Have a big mess? Take it out real quick! Have a few extra minutes? Vacuum a room or 2 if you don’t have time to vacuum the whole house.
Clean as you go!
Pasta sauce splattered on the backsplash? Wipe it right up. Dirty fingers touched the light switch?... wipe it off…wiping down items freshly dirty are much easier than dirt that has been sitting there for periods of time which could even cause staining depending on the type of surface. If you clean as you go, it becomes less overwhelming and you will find yourself doing it out of habit.
