In our house, we are BIG fans of breakfast for dinner. I love it for the ease, and everyone else loves it for the waffles and syrup. It is a staple on our weekly meal plan - and I've been trying to think of fun ways to shake it up! These breakfast skewers were such a hit - and the boys could even help put them together!
INGREDIENTS:
~Frozen waffles, toasted (we love the Kashi brand for a little extra protein)
~Cooked and halved chicken sausage (we use the roasted garlic chicken sausage by Al Fresco)
~Frozen tater tots, cooked in the air fryer
~Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, or blueberries
~pure maple syrup
STEPS:
1. Prepare all of the ingredients by toasting the waffles, sauteeing the chicken sausage, air frying the tater tots, and cutting up berries.
2. Place all ingredients (let them cool a bit) on a large cutting board.
3. Give each chef their own skewer - wooden ones are safer for the little ones - and let them assemble their own breakfast skewers.
4. Drizzle each skewer with syrup, and also put some syrup on the side for dipping.
5. ENJOY!
