Gray's Beach Playground Rebuild NEEDS YOU!

Are you a Kingston resident? Please read!

By Erin Michael, Plymouth MA Macaroni Kid Publisher and Michaela Colon May 2, 2022

Plymouth Macaroni Kid reader, Michaela Colon recently made me aware of an issue concerning the Gray's Beach playground - and it's need to be rebuilt. Keep reading to find out why - and how you can help. Also, be sure to follow along with Michaela and her family over on her Instagram page, @findlovealways

Maybe you've heard about it already, but maybe you haven't. The playground at Gray's Beach in Kingston is in need of replacing. It needs to be replaced because it has been in use for 18 years, and the excess rust and surface erosion are now threatening the safety and structural integrity of the equipment. This playground has been well loved, and the issues are typical of normal wear and tear of playgrounds that have been in use for this extended amount of time.

Michaela says "Our certified inspector has told us it is at or very near the end of its useful life as it will be 18 years old this year. There is a CPC article at this years Town Meeting (on MAY 14th@KIS) that will replace the structure in the pictures here.

The money is already there and this project will NOT raise your taxes.

It is the perfect CPC project. But there is a good chance that this project will NOT get voted in which most likely would mean we would have to close the playground.

So we need ALL the parents who come out with their little ones to come out and support this project. Any questions please feel free to reach out to Michaela. Information about the project can also be found on the Rec Dept's website. Thanks for your time!!
