Just this past week, we were hosted at The Ocean Breeze Motel in Yarmouth, and we were wowed - the rooms were updated, SO clean, quiet, and pretty spacious. But the absolute best thing about our stay was the location. The Ocean Breeze is a short walk to three gorgeous Yarmouth beaches, where we spent the majority of our time. You can also walk to one of our favorite Cape restaurants - The Skipper. The Skipper is known for their clam chowder and they also have an ice cream shoppe attached.

When you stay at Ocean Breeze, checking out the local beaches is a breeze (😉see what I did there?) ... you can walk to three different beaches (Thatcher Beach, Seaview Beach, and Parkers River Beach) right from your door! Check out our reel below to see just how easy the beaches are to get to.
Although it was during a heat wave when we were there, the beaches were much cooler (thanks to the wind!) but the water temperature was about 78 degrees! Perfect temperature for getting everyone in for a swim and cooling off!
Mini golf is a MUST when you are in Cape Cod. When you stay at the Ocean Breeze Motel in Yarmouth, you will have two great mini-golf courses less than 5 minutes from your room. Pirate's Cove offers 2 mini golf courses while Skull Island also has an arcade, driving range, and go-karts on site. We chose Skull Island and we were happy we did because the arcade offered a quick break from the heat!
The Ocean House Beach Bar is a win-win for everyone. Gorgeous views, delicious food, unique drinks, and live entertainment for the adults; a giant lawn for playing for the kids! Get there early to grab a couch on the lawn. We arrived around 4pm and grabbed the last one. They have a great kids menu but also delicious food for adults too. This is now a must-do every time we are in the area!

As a kid, I grew up going to Yarmouth every summer, so this trip was very nostalgic for me. BUT - the most nostalgic part was our visit to Candy Company! As kids, we would go there once a summer and it was right on par with Halloween for being the best candy day/night of the year! While so many businesses have changed or left the area since the last time I visited, Candy Company has held strong. Everything is the same as it was when I was a kid - right down to the baskets you put your penny candy in. The boys had such a blast and it's truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

Located in Dennis, Captain Baker's Donuts was worth the short drive! We got a half dozen donuts and decided to try old fashioned cinnamon, Holy Cannoli, Fluffernutter, jelly, s'more and nutty banana donuts. They were all amazing! If you aren't into donuts, Captain Baker's was also making some delicious-looking breakfast sandwiches which I will definitely be trying next time!
In my opinion, late summer/early fall is the best time to visit the Cape. You miss the large crowds, still have a good chance of catching some beach weather, and (hopefully) won't have to deal with the super high heat wave temperatures we've been dealing with. Book a last minute late summer/early fall getaway at the Ocean Breeze today!
