April Events at the Plymouth Public Library

Find something for everyone and all ages!

The Plymouth Public Library recently released all of the fun they have planned for April, and we've got all the details! Check out the full calendar or read on for our favorite events happening this month. 


What: Japanese Folktales and Origami 

When: Saturday, April 20th 2-3pm  

Why we love it: Origami has been all the rage with kids lately, and we understand why! Enjoy some paper folding fun while learning more about Japanese culture. 

From the library: Parent's Choice award winner Motoko regales families with delightful folktales from her native Japan, combined with hands-on origami activities. 


What: Eclipse! With Elements, etc. 

When: Tuesday, April 2nd, 4:30pm (recommended for ages 7-11)

Why we love it: Kids will get to learn more about this once-in-a-lifetime event! 

From the library: Learn about the different types of eclipses, why they don't happen more often, and why eye protection is needed to view a solar eclipse. Registration required. 


What: Terrapins In Your Neighborhood

When: Friday, April 19, 11:00am-12:00pm (recommended for ages 6-11)

Why we love it: As someone who had to Google what a terrapin was, I would love to learn more about them! 

From the library: Join New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance for a family program that will include a short presentation, a craft, and some marine artifacts to examine. 


What: Colonization and the Wampanoag Story 

When: Tuesday, April 16th at 1:30pm (recommended for ages 10 and up)

Why we love it: So excited to take advantage of an informational event during school vacation week. Be sure to register and save your spot!

From the library: Join the Plymouth Public Library and author Linda Coombs for a discussion and signing of her book Colonization and the Wampanoag Story Told from the perspective the New England Indigenous Nations, this is the true story of how America today as we know it today began.
