Woodloch, where do I begin?
Just a couple weeks ago, we were so kindly hosted at Woodloch Resort located in Hawley, PA. We expected an amazing weekend, but we were truly blown away. From start to finish, this trip was pure perfection. Here are 5 reasons why we can't wait to get back to Woodloch!
From the moment we checked in to check-out, we created lifetime memories every step of the way! Woodloch Resort is not just a hotel you sleep at - it is an entire experience - that we are not soon to forget.
Together may not be a verb, but at Woodloch, "togethering" is a thing. With busy school and work schedules, time together is fleeting - we were so happy to have a weekend to spend together as a family. We enjoyed long meals, movies, activities, and tons of walks together . The togethering and creating of core memories for a lifetime were my favorite parts of our weekend getaway. Woodloch is great at catering to families - so that everyone gets what they want (I'm looking at you nightly cocktail specials and kid drink specials!)
Post-covid, getting away from screens has been HARD, if I am being honest. While we loved being active and doing things, we fell prey to relying on screens more than we would have liked.
Woodloch Resort was the perfect getaway from all the screens (children AND adults!) in our lives. If your family loves to stay busy and try new things, Woodloch certainly makes it easy. Woodloch has many activities that are open all day long - to use at your convenience. We loved checking out the playground, splash pad, waterslide, pool and toddler splash area, indoor playground, arcades, and bumper cars when it was convenient for us! In addition, Woodloch offers a TON of scheduled events daily - you simply download their app, look over the activities at breakfast, and sign up for the ones your family might be interested in that day. Our favorites were Cupcake Wars and OF COURSE - the nighttime show - a wonderfully performed musical!
My husband and I are not all-inclusive "people". We don't love cruises, and have had less than stellar experiences at some all inclusive resorts - one in Portugal that we will always remember, and not for good reasons. While Woodloch offers all inclusive dining, it feels far from it. My husband and I both noticed that the food was more like something you'd find at a nice restaurant and a far cry from anything we've had at all-inclusives of the past.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all amazing. Every time. We left every meal so satisfied and couldn't wait for the next menu to come out. And... the drinks! So many delicious ones, but their espresso martini was one of the best I've ever had ... and I've sampled *a few*.

Holy moly. This crumb cake. A giant loaf was at our table every morning and breakfast - and one morning it was apple crumb cake. It is all baked fresh right on Woodloch's property. They also offer "Crumb Cake Ice Cream" for dessert, which was this amazing cake, mixed in to vanilla ice cream. I may or may not have taken a loaf home with me so I could recreate the ice cream at home. Still dreaming about it. |
My husband and I have done our share of traveling and have had a range of hospitality experiences. However, it is easy to tell when a place just "gets it". Woodloch's hospitality tops the list - we are STILL talking about it. We had the same amazing waiter and waitstaff for every meal (Hi Ramon!) and our waiter made it a point to get to know us - and especially our kids. He would be ready with a fist bump, would set up their crayons and coloring books on the page they left off on, would have their drinks ready to go, all before we even sat down at the table. Those extra efforts did not go unnoticed.
Woodloch Resort has thought of everything for families - shuttles to get from building to building and activity to activity, retractable step stools in the bathrooms for hand washing, complimentary cribs in the rooms, and activities that are fun and engaging for kids. It was the perfect wholesome family experience!
Woodloch Resortis unique. I have not been to any resort quite like it - and the best part is - it's just a drive away.
Our family loves going on vacation to the White Mountains of New Hampshire, beaches in Maine, Acadia, hills of Vermont, and in New York City. Woodloch offers something none of these places have - . It is an experience in itself, but is just a little bit further, if not closer, than many of those places.
Woodloch offers “togethering,” or bringing loved ones together, spending time with one another, and creating memories to last a lifetime. Through a unique array of home-grown, team-building type activities for families, a nostalgic, back-to-basics environment, pristine natural surroundings and a truly unique brand of hospitality.
We left Woodloch with a renewed sense of connection with our own family - and you can too!
