This week I would love to introduce you to Sarah Jane - the mom behind Valoisa Media! Sarah Jane offers local women-owned businesses creative marketing and social media management. She is also such a positive presence on social media - even if you aren't a business owner interested in growing your audience, her content is relatable and BEAUTIFUL. If you ARE a business owner, what are you waiting for? Go follow her on Instagram NOW! She will only fill your feed with light ✨(ps... do yourself a favor and scroll through her reels, she is the reel QUEEN!)
1. How many kids do you have and how old are they?
1 child, 3 years old
2. What town do you live/work in? What is your favorite thing about the Plymouth area?
I live in Plymouth, MA. We love the coastal community vibes. Endless outdoor activities and a fabulous downtown area.
3. What do you like to do for fun with your kids in the Plymouth area? Without your kids?
Go to the beach. Evening ice cream runs to Kush Kone. Playgrounds, we love them all!
4. Tell us about Valoisa Media and how it came about. Is Valoisa Media your full-time job?
Valoisa is a social media agency that focuses on content creation and social media management for women owned/operated businesses. In 2020 I watched as business after business closed down due to the circumstances. But there were several that THRIVED and remain open today…90% of those thriving small businesses have a strong social media presence. Owning and operating your own business is…a lot, to put it lightly. So many don’t have the time, energy, (and with the rate in which social changes)or the ability to build a strong community and presence on social. I formed the idea of Valoisa in October of 2020 and by January 24th 2021 I had quit my job and put everything I had into Valoisa. I couldn’t be more grateful that I made that decision.
5. Where can we buy your products and learn more about your business?
Follow @valoisamedia on Instagram or go to www.valoisamedia.com (new website coming fall 2022)
6. How do you balance work and life? Any tips?
Not to get all hippie dippy on you but…My spiritual and mental health has to remain priority #1 for me every day. That looks like a lot of meditation, nature walks, morning reflections/readings, and when I don’t do these things I can really feel it, the whole family does. As moms we have really powerful energy in our homes, and if I can make it positive, calming, or peaceful the balance of our little life comes much easier. Not always possible, but progress not perfect right?
Does living in the Plymouth area influence your work?
Absolutely! I shoot so much content downtown, on the water—with my clients residing and operating their businesses all across the south shore all of these special towns have a major influence on the work we do at Valoisa.
Tell us your favorite places in the Plymouth Area to...
EAT
Easy! Artisan Pig. As a girl from the south this spot is pretty much always calling my name. I'll be honest, I've only sat down and eaten in house ONCE but we get take out just about every other week. I can't speak on the drinks *little miss doesn't drink* but the food, particularly their wood fired pizza is enough to make my heart sing!
PLAY with kids
When we aren't down at the beach (IBIA) I actually love going to Forges Field with Lumi. The evenings and weeks days are usually pretty quiet and you can get an entire sports field to yourself to play soccer, chase, or just roll around in the grass. The playground is decent and there are some great trails for scooter riding and biking! It's the best spot when you want something low key in Plymouth during the tourist season.
PLAY without kids
Don't know what that's like tbh... we don't do much without our girl. Having one makes it easier, I'd imagine it would be a different story if we had more but we try to operate in balance of kid friendly and adult enjoyment all together.
FAVORITE LOCAL BUSINESS
Impossible to choose. I'm so in awe of the number of locally owned small business in Plymouth esp. women owned businesses! SLAAAAY! Choosing just one would be totally unfair but a few I adore are:
For ice cream- Kush Kone (Manomet)
Grocery- Clements (Manomet)
Snack- Smith's Family Popcorn *my new favorite thing* (Waterfront)
Books - Books and Sundry
Shopping - Sprezzatura Boutique
That ought to be enough to wet your whistle. ha.
Thank you so much Sarah Jane for letting us get to know you!
