A few weeks ago, we received an invitation to our preschooler's art show at Tiny Town Children's Center. When I first received the invitation, I pictured fingerpaints, maybe some coloring pages, and - perhaps - some watercolors. However, what we saw when we arrived completely blew us away!
The preschoolers had spent weeks studying and learning about various artists - painters, composers, musicians, etc - and were inspired by their work. Their (amazing) teachers led them through connected activities where the children were encouraged to create work in the styles of the artists they were studying. The result was absolutely amazing!
Students created art in the styles of Jackson Pollock, Van Gogh, Andy Warhol, among many others. Their work was truly amazing and the effort and love the teachers poured into this special unit was clear.
